My name is Ricardo Perez-Truglia. I am an economist and a Professor at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. My research focuses on various topics, including income inequality, the gender pay gap, pay transparency, and tax compliance. Typically, I begin by formulating a hypothesis about how individuals make decisions or how a policy will affect them. To test these hypotheses, I collaborate with firms and governments, often involving field experiments. In 2020, I was named a Sloan Research Fellow, an award recognizing outstanding early-career faculty with the potential to revolutionize their fields of study. My research has been published in academic journals such as the American Economic Review and the Journal of Political Economy, and it has been featured in media outlets like the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal. I teach the core MBA course on Microeconomics. I have been awarded the Earl F. Cheit Award for Excellence in MBA Teaching and recognized by Poets & Quants as one of the Best 40-Under-40 Business School Professors. Additionally, I work for Amazon as a Scholar, conducting research to improve employee satisfaction, diversity, equity, and inclusion. |
